Founded in 1979 by John Sturrock and joined by brother Doug, each have many years boating experience in all aspects of sailing; racing as well as pleasure boating.
The business grew from a retail shop in Birkenhead Point, through the ownership of boatyards and marinas. We are currently located at Rushcutters Bay in the heart of Sydney's ocean racing fleet.
Being on the water for over 60 years and in business for 40 years, you can count on the right advice for all your boating requirements. The preparation for Sydney's 2000 Olympic Games posted Sturrock's Ship Chandlers as the official suppliers for all the Olympic Sailing.
If what you need isn't on the shelf, it can be easily acquired - nothing is too much trouble!

I can't find the product I'm after, can you do special orders?
Yes, we can do special orders for all sorts of products you may need. Just give us a call at (02) 9363 1939 or come in store and we can help you find the right product you're looking for.
Do you service inflatable life-jackets and life rafts?
Yes we do, we service life-jackets, life rafts and even dan buoys.
Drop them in store and your life-jacket/s should be ready to go within 7 working days. Life rafts about 2 weeks depending on demand.
What is your returns policy?
You may return an item within 14 days to either exchange or receive a refund. We will not accept any used items unless it is a warranty fault. You must have proof of purchase.
What other services do you provide?
We can help you create things such as dock lines, tapered halyards and spinnaker sheets, wire rigging and more. With our experience we know the right way to go about making sure that you get exactly what you need whether its a small splice to a custom made tapered halyard.
Is everything you do only for boats?
Of course not, we pride ourselves on being versatile to cater to everyone's needs. We've helped many people from creating vine trellises for your backyard, to storing surfboards and kayaks in the garage.
I have a problem but I don't need to buy anything can I still come in and ask a question?

We have sailed small dinghies to super yachts and everything in between. Competing in regattas such as the Sydney to Hobart, Antigua Race Week, Australian National Titles and World Championships.
